Item Description:

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialised agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries.

Objective of this tender

IFAD is selecting an Insurance Broker with at least 5 years of experience in working with International entities.

Familiarity with Rome based specialised agencies of the UN system otherwise known as RBAs will be considered an asset.

The purpose of this RFP is detailed in the next sections. In brief IFAD wishes to select a vendor that:

• assists IFAD in purchasing bespoke solutions to mitigate residual operational risks identified and assessed through internal risk management functions.
• provides on-demand consultancy services to complement internally managed processes of operational risk management.
• gives access to local insurance markets in countries hosting ICOs in order to meet IFAD’s needs worldwide as IFAD has about 40 offices located in as many countries.
• provides an advisory role on market variations, emerging and changing nature of risks and insight over national as well as European level risk related legislation that may impact both the insurance market and products in IFAD use.
• provides on-site insurance services to IFAD staff for personal needs.
