Item Description:
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is seeking a two-year contract with suppliers and distributors of medical equipment and medical oxygen, who have the capacity to supply and install oxygen concentrators and accessories as listed below. In addition, they should have proven capacity to provide quality products, technical support and training, quality customer service, and associated services.
This contract shall cover the following;
1. Supply and installation of oxygen therapy equipment:
- Provide oxygen therapy equipment in 13 health facilities in New Juaben North and Lower Manya districts according to the attached table, annex 1:
The oxygen therapy equipment will be provided according to the technical specifications of the guide drawn up by WHO and UNICEF in Annex 2, the link of which
is: https://www.who.int/medical_devices/publications/tech_specs_oxygen_therapy_devices/en/ - Ensure that the identified sites are ready to receive the equipment, in particular the quality and reliability of the electrical power.
- Ensure the installation of the equipment on all the identified sites
2. Training and Maintenance of equipment:
- Train health staff, technical maintenance staff, healthcare providers and biomedical engineers on the use and maintenance of equipment with a transition plan for government to take over the maintenance for sustainability.
- Ensure long-term maintenance of oxygen therapy equipment and guarantee the quality of the oxygen produced (monitor with oxygen analyzer).
- Provide the necessary spare parts such as filters for concentrators, etc.
- The equipment installed in all 13 health facilities should be operational for a minimum of 12 months.
UNICEF sees in the long term, the possibility of forming, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, a partnership with the company that will be selected, to ensure the sustainability of the project.
