Procurement of tablets for MBS

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in more than 170 countries and territories around the world. UNDP works to eradicate poverty while protecting the planet. We help countries develop strong policies, skills, partnerships and institutions so they can sustain their progress.

In 2021 UNDP provided financial support to Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) to conduct a rapid assessment to understand livelihood impact of COVID-19 crisis on the informal economy in Maldives. This survey costed only 60 percent of budget allocation. As MBS is currently planning to conduct various other surveys including the nationwide census operation in 2022, they have addressed the issue of having a shortage of tablets required for these operations. Thus, UNDP has decided to reprogram the unused funds from informal sector survey to provide tablets for MBS.

UNDP seeks to procure tablets for MBS to assist them in their information and communications technology (ICT) arrangements in the upcoming surveys and census operations.
