Provision of Construction Cost-estimating Services for projects at UN Headquarters in New York

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS / INFORMATION (IF ANY)

6. In this regard, the UN is requesting expressions of interest from qualified companies with the capability to provide the below requirements as will be specified in the pending solicitation. The scope of services will include, but not be limited to the following:

a. The successful bidder will be primarily be expected to provide on-call cost-estimating services for construction projects for the United Nations HQ premises and leased UN spaces in New York City which covers approximately 3.5 million sq.ft. and includes one location in Queens;

b. UN Construction projects overseas are also supervised by UNHQ in NY. The successful bidder may be called upon, on occasion, to provide cost estimates for such construction projects with consideration to industry rates, standards and units in use at the location of the project;

c. Most Cost estimates will be requested for consultancy services and/or construction works of a value of US$100,000 and above. The UN may however require estimates to be provided for projects of a lesser value;

d. Such projects could encompass, but are not limited to, the following: security systems, interior/exterior renovation, structural works, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, fire alarm, fire protection, audio visual systems, telecommunications, signage, engineering and/or design consulting services, etc. Projects will also include application of green technology or upgrading an existing structure or space to LEED standards or equivalent, therefore requiring the applicable estimates.

7. The contract duration for the provision of these services shall be for an initial period of three (3) years, and may be renewed for up to two additional one-year periods, at the sole option of the UN, based on satisfactory performance from the Vendor and availability of funds

8. To be eligible for RFP award consideration, bidders must be registered at UNGM Level 1 or above.

9. The UN reserves the right to issue the final solicitation documents only to those prospective Vendors that respond to the EOI, and are deemed qualified upon completion of an objective evaluation of their submission, or to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued.
