Item Description:

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was created by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. In 1950, UNICEF’s mandate was extended to address the long-term needs of children and women in developing countries everywhere. In 1953 it became a permanent part of the United Nations System, and the words “international” and “emergency” were dropped from the organization’s name, making it simply the United Nations Children’s Fund, retaining the original acronym, “UNICEF”.

For its efforts to enhance solidarity between nations and reduce the difference between rich and poor states, UNICEF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965.

Invitation to Bid (ITB)

You are kindly requested to submit your best proposal for International/Local invitation to bid for Ref. LITB# 2021- 9170899 for Provision of Materials and Laboratory Equipment (Re-Bid). Detailed specifications are included in the tender document and all enclosed annexes.

Please submit your offer by latest Monday 01 November 2021, 16:30 hrs. (Syria time).

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. Joint venture international companies are encouraged to submit their offers; please review item# 4.2 of the above attached document.
2. International bids MUST be submitted ONLY in USD & Euro; while local bids can be submitted in USD or SYP, however payment will be made in local currency according to the UN exchange rate at the date of payment.
3. Please, read all the provisions of the Invitation to Bid to ensure that you understand and comply with UNICEF’s requirements.
4. All inquiries should be sent by maximum25 October 2021. and will not be considered through phone calls. Kindly make sure that the e-mail mentions the LITB reference number LITB# 2021-9170899.
5. Items can be spilt among different suppliers during the financial evaluation process.
6. Only offers received through UNICEF BID Box inDamascus Office in sealed envelopes will be considered; offers received through any other mean will be considered as invalid.
7. Page 3 (QUOTATION FORM) of the tender document should be signed, stamped and presented along with the financial offer.
8. Colored Photos/Catalogues are requested for all items in the technical proposal. “any item without photo/catalogue will be considered as rejected”.
9. Delivery lead time to be mentioned clearly in the technical offer.
10. The attached Declaration Form should be stamped, signed and submitted with the proposal.
11. Financial Offers comparison will be made through converting bids into one currency based on United Nations Exchange Rate.
