Provision of Refurbishment Services on Truck Mounted Sewage Systems to the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), Brindisi, Italy

Item Description:

The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) wishes to establish a one-year Contract for the provision of Refurbishment Services on nine (9) Truck Mounted Sewage (Vacuum/Suction) Systems at the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), Brindisi, Italy. The nine (9) truck mounted sewage systems have a capacity of eight thousand (8,000) litres and come in two (2) model types that are similar in size and shape, just minor differences in the positioning of inlet/outlet pipes etc.

The trucks are more than ten (10) years old, and based on their present condition, each tank/system requires minor & major repair works, complete painting, and recertification to bring back to a fully operational condition.

It is envisioned at this moment that all nine (9) trucks will be repaired; however, the total number of units could change slightly depending on operational reasons.

UNGSC is seeking to obtain the services from a Company that is registered with the Chamber of Commerce for these business areas associated to vehicle refurbishment, and a copy of the Chamber of Commerce will be requested at the tender stage. UNGSC is seeking the services of a Contractor that has its facilities within a 120 km’s distance from the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy.

The tasks in summary are listed below, but not in any specific order: Sewage Tank & Sub-Frame

i. The complete sandblasting of frame and tank (internal/external parts of the tank) to SA 2.5 sandblasting standards.

ii. Welding: Re-welding cracks & other related welding works to repair/reinforce frame & tank.

iii. Repair/replace side mounted storage tray supports & trays, side impact frame, rear tank shield, and spare wheel carrier & mechanism.

iv. Installation of metal plate to reinforce tank mounting.

v. Replacement of output tank pipes, couplings, and cock valves.

vi. The complete sandblasting and painting of tank sub-frame.

vii. Replacement of tank hatch seals, inspection glasses & seals, all cock valves mounted on tank/system & all nuts/bolts fitted to frame & other mounted items.

viii. Carry out any remedial works required to complete the refurbishment.

ix. Pressure Testing/Tank Leak Detection.

The tank must be tested prior to and after completion of the works to certify the tank is sealed and leak proof. Sewage Pumping System Refurbishment

i. Main pump-complete overhauling or replacement if required.

ii. Pumping system-inspection, maintenance & replacement of defective or missing items, including replacement of gaskets & seals.

iii. Replace pumping system pressure gauge & pressure release valve.

iv. Replacement of all hoses within the system.

v. Replacement of main pump drive belts.

vi. Replace drive shaft bearings on pulley (G/Box output shaft).

vii. Drive belts protective cover: Inspect, repair, or replace to make complete.

viii. Repair/replace externally mounted electrical control system & wiring.

ix. Carry out any remedial works to complete the pumping system refurbishment.

x. Carry out system test to certify complete unit is fully functional.

Sewage System Accessories

i. Replace all warning & advisory stickers/markings.

ii. The Supply of new suction hoses-4 X 2.8mt.

iii. The supply of new discharge hose-1 X 1mt.

iv. Replace rear mud wings & mounting supports and,

v. Any other items to complete the trucks.

Based on the condition of the trucks and the related works to be performed, a mandatory site visit to inspect each truck will be arranged at the UNGSC in Brindisi, Italy prior to the closing date of the tender exercise. The full technical specifications will be provided with a solicitation document to be issued at a later stage after the closing date for this EOI. This REOI does not constitute a solicitation. The UNGSC reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during the REOI and solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation documents when issued.
