Item Description:
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) in Brindisi, Italy has a requirement to establish a Long term Contract for the supply and delivery of Heavy Duty Modular Flooring System. The Contract will have an initial duration of one (1) year, with the option to be extended for two (2) periods of one (1) year each, up to a maximum contract period of three (3) years.
The Heavy Duty Modular Flooring System shall be designed in line with the following requirements:
i. Rapidly deployable flooring solutions providing stable ground covering ranging from light to heavy
load bearing capacity in support of all types of access requirements for the United Nations field missions.
ii. Three types of tiles/panels for modular flooring systems are required:
- Type A: Pedestrian walkways
- Type B: Roadways, Parking & Hard-Stand Areas
- Type C: Helipads.
iii. The design of the single flooring tile/component shall offer versatility and allow a complete modular, interlocking expandable system easy to be installed/removed by unskilled personnel without any tools.
iv. It shall be durable for at least five (5) years after installation, and suitable for harsh environmental conditions and different climate zones, with several variations in terms of temperature, humidity, wind,
slip and UV-resistant finishing material with easy cleaning and maintenance.
v. It shall minimize the use of locks, cams, connectors, clips, or any moving parts.
Performance parameters
- Type of material: durable plastic (e.g., high-impact polymers, HDPE-high-density polyethylene resin, etc.)
- Acceptable weight loading range:
Type A: 5.000 to 10.000 lbs. per sq/ft (static/dynamic load) - Type B: 10.000 to 20.000 lbs. per sq/ft (static/dynamic load)
- Type C: 20.000 to 40.000 lbs. per sq/ft (static/dynamic load)
- Shape of a single Tile/Module: hexagonal (honeycomb shape).
- Tile/panel dimensions: each tile/panel shall have the following physical characteristics,
- Area: no more than 1 m2
- Thickness: no more than 60mm
Weight: each panel/tile shall have the weight of no more than: Type A: 10.0 kg – Type B and C: 20.0 Kg.
The product shall comply with fire ratings UL 94 HB – Horizontal Burning (Underwriters Laboratory, U.S.A.) or equivalent standard. UV Resistance: UV stabilized for enhanced outdoor utilization
The Vendor shall design and provide the materials in compliance with international codes, rules, regulations, ordinances standards, including, but not limited to the following:
- EUROCODE
- ASTM
- ISO
- BSEN
- DIN
Delivery Terms: Delivery at Place – DAP UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy and Free Carrier – FCA nearest port of exit.
Shipment shall be made using 20” ISO sea containers in protective packaging to prevent breakages during transportation. The gross weight of each container must not exceed 10 tons.
The Contractor will provide a list of technical contacts for after-sale support for technical issues and remote assistance where required.
This REOI does not constitute a solicitation. The UNGSC reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during the REOI and solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation documents when issued.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS / INFORMATION (IF ANY)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- In the response to this EOI, we are kindly asking you to indicate, if possible, the Maximum Delivery Period for these commodities after the receipt of the Purchase Order, for both DAP, UNGSC Brindisi and FCA nearest port of exit (Incoterms 2020)
- The Vendor must be registered with the UN Secretariat through the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) at the Level 2 before the award.
