Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids [IFB]
The Republic of Sudan received financing from the African Development Bank, hereinafter called the Bank, towards the cost of the Capacity Building for Improved Quality of Education System and Skills Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards payments under the contract for Procurement of Workshop Equipment & Furniture for Technical Institutes.
For this contract, the Borrower, the Republic of Sudan, shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments, which the contract provides to be made through letter of credit.
The Ministry of Education now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply, installation and commissioning of equipment to Thirteen (13) TVET schools in the States of Khartoum, White Nile and North Kordofan packaged in six (6) separate lots as described in the attached Invitation for Bids [IFB].
Bidders have the option to bid for any one lot or multiple of lots. The supply, installation and commission shall be completed within a period of six (6) months after contract signature.
Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), (OCBI) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework, Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations, October 2015, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
