The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Transport Network Development Investment Program – Tranche 4 – Border Crossing Point and Road Monitoring Equipment for CAREC Corridors 5 and 6 (EU funded-ADB Project), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

The Ministry of Finance (“the Purchaser”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for Supply, Installation, Commissioning and Testing of 400 sets of electronic transit cargo tracking devices; Equipping a Central Command & Control Centre; Geo-fencing signal tracking; Supply of vehicles; Training of Customs Officers (“the Goods”).

Open Competitive Bidding – International will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two-Envelope procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries as described in the Bidding Document.

Invitation for Bids
