Supply of connection materials, ready-boards and Pre-paid metres to intensify the last mile connections for new customers near to the existing grid in project áreas (LOT 9A, 9B & and 9C)

This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) No. AfDB715-10/15 of 16th October 2015, and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org ).

The Government of has received a loan from the African Development Bank (ADB) in various currencies towards the cost of Uganda Rural Electricity Access Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan/financing will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Supply of connection materials, ready-boards and Pre-paid metres to intensify the last mile connections for new customers near to the existing grid in project áreas (LOT 9A, 9B & and 9C).

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Procurement of Electricity Connection Materials and other Connection Accessories (hereinafter called “the Facilities”). International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works, and, specifically, through Single Stage Bidding Procedures.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of Rural Electrification Agency, Procurement & Disposal Unit, P.O. Box No. 7317, Tel: No. +256-312-318100, Facsimile No. +256-414-346013, E-mail: procurement@rea.or.ug , from 08:00 to 17:00 hours local time.

A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the said Executing Agency, and upon payment of a non- refundable fee of Five Hundred Thousand Uganda Shillings (UGX 500,000) or in a freely convertible currency. Please note that the mode of payment shall be through generating a payment registration number from the URA website e-service(www.ura.go.ug. ).(e-services – payments-payment registration).You will be required to present a receipt of payment from the commercial bank to REA accounts office and an official receipt shall be issued thereafter.

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Goods and Related Services.

Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before at 11:00 AM local time on 23rd December, 2019 and must be accompanied by a Bid Security of amounts as stated below:
