Supply of detectors, electronics and sources

Item Description:

The European Commission, (referred to below as the contracting authority) is planning to award the contract resulting from the above procurement procedure. The procurement documents consist of the ex-ante publicity, the invitation letter, the draft contract and tender specifications with their respective annexes.

The European Commission, Joint Research Centre in Geel, has the intention to purchase detectors, electronics and sources. These products will be procured in 5 different lots:

• Lot 1: Two single digital units compatible with standard 14-pin scintillation detectors using 10-stage PMT’s.
• Lot 2: Four single digital units for operation of radiation detectors that could be either HPGe-detectors or NaI(Tl) detectors (or any other type of scintillation detector)

The equipment above will be operated in the radionuclide metrology lab, and in the HADES underground laboratory in order to reduce the background contribution from cosmic radiation and the reference laboratories at JRC-Geel. The detectors plus their electronic acquisition systems have to maintain a good resolution. All detectors need complete remote control in case no access to the laboratories for longer periods is possible.

• Lot 3: A silicon based electron detector to be used to test the feasibility for the detection of the conversion electrons from a 238U sample
• Lot 4: A set of NIM electronics modules required to replace broken modules at our current time of flight experiments.
• Lot5: One Hg-203 source
