Item Description:
This invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) No. AfDB496-07/14 of 24th July 2014 and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org) on 30th July 2014.
The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe has received a grant from the Zimbabwe Multi-Donor Trust Fund (Zim-Fund) administered by the African Development Bank (the Bank) to finance the Urgent Water Supply and Sanitation Rehabilitation Project -Consolidation Works, Goods and Services. It is intended that part of the proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under Contract Ref. UWSSRPII/026.
The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has appointed Crown Agents Limited (Crown Agents) to act as its Procurement Agent. Crown Agents now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of the following works:
LOT 1: Works in Chegutu and Kwekwe Towns LOT 2: Works in Masvingo and Mutare Towns LOT 3: Works in Kwekwe and Masvingo Towns
Bidding shall be by National Competitive Bidding in accordance with the Bank’s rules and procedures for procurement of Goods and Works dated May 2008, revised in 2012 and in accordance with Zim-Fund operational Manual. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible firms and voluntarily formed joint ventures from eligible source countries, as defined in the aforementioned Bank Rules and Procedures and the Operations Manual of the Zim-Fund.
A complete set of the bidding documents, in English only, may be obtained by interested bidders on the submission of a written application (with the name and full address of the bidder), by email to zimfundpa@crownagents.co.uk The bidding documents will only be available electronically. No fee is due.
The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Small Works, dated September 2010, revised July 2012 and the Operations Manual of the Zim-Fund.
Non-compulsory site visits and pre-bid meetings will be held on: 28, 29 and 30 May 2019 at each project site. Prior registration to attend is essential. Details are in the bidding documents.
Bids must be delivered to the address at 9 below by 13:00 hours (BST) on 25 June 2019 and must be accompanied by a bid security of: Lot 1: Six hundred United States Dollars (USD600.00), and/or for Lot 2: Four hundred United States Dollars (USD400.00) and/or for Lot 3: three thousand five hundred United States Dollars (USD3,500.00). Combined bid securities will not be acceptable. Bids sent electronically will not be accepted.
Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 14:00 hours (BST) on 25 June 2019 at the address at 10 below.
