Supply of construction work for the Science Gateway, CERN’s new scientific and outreach center designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW)

Item Description:

CERN intends to place one single contract with a general contractor for the construction of the Science Gateway facility which will consist in three pavilions and two tubular exhibition halls, connected by a bridge. The overall project ground surface will be ca. 3.5 ha (total floor surface in excess of 7000 sqm including a 900-seat auditorium, a restaurant, a shop, exhibition areas, educational laboratories, offices and various technical rooms). The construction work shall include: foundation, structural work, cladding, roofing, interior finishing, HVAC, electricity, automation and landscaping.

The firm or combination of firms shall have proven experience as general contractor for the construction of large public buildings, with at least one reference project in the area of culture and/or opened to public.
