Item Description:
This Invitation for Prequalification (IFP) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).
The Government of The Republic of Zimbabwe has received a Grant financing from the African Development Bank TSF toward the cost of the Alaska-Karoi (132kV) Power Transmission Rehabilitation Project (AKTP) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant financing to eligible payments under the contract for AKTP 001 Substation and Line Construction.
The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) now invites bidders to be pre-qualified for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of:
- A new 132 kV line bay at existing Alaska 132/88kV substation, fully equipped;
- A new 132kV line (85km long) from Alaska Substation to a new 132/33kV substation at Karoi;
- A new 132/33kV substation at Karoi;
- Connection of 3 existing 33kV line to the new substation at Karoi, supply and construction;
- Supply and Construction of 23km of new 11kV lines and installation of associated distribution transformers;
- Supply and Construction of 13km of new LV lines;
- Supply of distribution materials for refurbishment of existing MV and LV distribution networks including distribution transformers;
- 5 MVA 33/11kV Transformer
- Replacement of 25 10kVA, 11/0.4kV faulted transformers
- Replacement of 25 25kVA, 11/0.4kV faulted transformers
- Replacement of 20 50kVA, 11/0.4kV faulted transformers
- Replacement of 20 100kVA, 11/0.4kV faulted transformers
- Replacement of 10 10kVA, 33/0.4kV faulted transformers
- Replacement of 10 25kVA, 33/0.4kV faulted transformers
- Replacement of 20 50kVA, 33/0.4kV faulted transformers Weatherdac (25km)
- Supply of LV materials for connection of 4800 customers, inclusive of conductors, cables fittings, pre-paid meters, poles, fittings and other associated materials necessary for complete supply. Further details will be provided in tender documents.
It is expected that Invitations for Bid (IFB) will be made in March 2020.
Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the Prequalification Document at the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) (address below) from 0800 to 1630 hours. A complete set of the Prequalification Document in English may be obtained by interested applicants from the address below.
Applications for Prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 11th February 2020, and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for Alaska- Karoi (132kV) Power Transmission Rehabilitation Project (AKTP)
