Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids (IFB)
The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing from the European Union through African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank towards the cost of the Yirgalem Integrated Agro-Industry Parks-Support Project (YIAIP-SP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Waste Water (Effluent) Treatment Plant Work in Yirgalem Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks (YIAIP). For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing.
The South Nations Nationalities and Peoples Regional State, Industrial Parks Development Corporation (SNNPRS, IPDC) now invite sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for execution of the Waste Water (Effluent) Treatment plant works in Yirgalem Agro- Industrial Parks (YIAIP); located 40km far from Hawassa City; along the high way to Moyale.
Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), OCBI procedures as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the SNNPRS, IPDC, Office of Finance Administration and provision directorate or Procurement Case team and biruwolde2@gmail.com , teshale197@gmail.com and dawitbolka@gmail.com and inspect the Bidding document during office hours from 8:30AM to 12:30PM and 1:30PM to 5:00PM Monday to Friday during working days and from 8:30 AM to 5:00 AM on Saturday at the address given below.
The Bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of ETB 500.00 (Five hundred Birr). The method of payment will be cashier’s check. The document will be sent by with Bidders’ or their designated representatives.
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 12:30 PM; on or before on or before 31 days invitation letter posted on Ethiopian Herald(media). Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 2:00pm, on 31st day of invitation letter posted on Ethiopian Herald (media).
All Bids must be accompanied by a security of in the form of certified Cheque or unconditional bank guarantee or CPO of an amount ETB 500,000.00 (Five hundred thousand birr) by the name of SNNPRS, IPDC.
Attention is drawn to the Procurement Framework requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.
