Design, Supply, and Installation of Weighbridge Equipment at Rongo Station

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

Request for Invitation for Bids

The Government of the Republic of Kenya (GoK) has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Rehabilitation of Isebania – Kisii – Ahero (A1) Road Project, and intends to apply part of the this loan to make eligible payments for Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Weighbridge Equipment at Rongo Weighbridge Station.

The above contract is part of the Government’s goal to preserve the road asset after a major road improvement so that the road can survive its design life.

The Kenya National Highways Authority, KeNHA, being an authorized agent of the Government of the Republic of Kenya now invites sealed bids through International/ Open Competitive Bidding (I/OCB) for the execution of the Design, Supply, and Installation of Weighbridge Equipment at Rongo Station.

Interested bidders must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services. Bidders may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualifications.

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are based on the Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Goods issued by the African Development Bank, dated June 2010.

The Bidder shall furnish a bid security from a reputable Bank for each bid in the amount of: KShs. 1,000,000.00 (One Million Kenya Shillings Only) or its equivalent in other international currencies.

The Bids shall be enclosed in plain packages and clearly marked with the Tender Number and description sealed and transmitted by courier or delivered by hand to the address below or deposited at the Authority’s Tender Box located at Supply Chain Management Office, 2nd Floor, Block C, Barabara Plaza, Mazao Road off Airport South Road, so as to be received not later than Thursday 10th September 2020 at 1100 hrs East African Time.
