The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank with a mission to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia. General Procurement Notice
The Republic of Uzbekistan (Ministry of Housing and Communal Services or referred to as “MHCS”) has applied for financing in the amount of US$ 385.12 equivalent from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) toward the cost of the Bukhara Region Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, non-consulting services and consulting services to be procured under this project.
The project will include the following components and the procurement that requires international competition for this Project, is expected to commence in December 2020, will include the following components:
Component 1 — Investment in Water Supply Infrastructure: Construction and rehabilitation of main water lines, well fields and intakes, associated electric facilities, water treatment plants, pumping stations, water reservoirs, distribution networks. The water supply component covers the districts Bukhara, Rometan, Peshko, Jondor, Kogon and Qorovulbozor.
Component 2 — Investment in Sewerage Infrastructure: implementation of centralized sewage systems in district centers consisting of house connections, collectors, pumping stations and mechanical-biological sewage treatment plants as well as discharge facilities, optionally tertiary treatment for reuse purposes. The sewerage component covers the district centers of Qorakol, Olot, Qorovulbozor, Rometan and Gijduvon.
Component 3 — Project Implementation and Management Support: Project management and implementation support by a Project Management Consultant will be provided to assist the Implementing Agency in ensuring seamless coordination, efficient implementation and compliance with the relevant policies and standards. Based on the feasibility study, the detailed design for phase I will be prepared through the consulting services under this component. The consulting services will also assure the construction supervision during implementation. In addition, the component includes incremental cost for the Project Coordination Unit.
Procurement of contracts financed by AIIB will be conducted in accordance with the AIIB Procurement Policies and its associated Procurement Directive (June 2, 2016) (“Procurement Directive”), and is open to all eligible firms and individuals as defined in the Procurement Directive.
Specific procurement notices for contracts subject to open international competitive procurement will be announced, as they become available, on http://www.mjko.uz, AIIB external website and UNBD portal, as appropriate.
