Procurement of Equipment

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Government of Tamil Nadu through Government of India has received financing from ADB towards the cost of Tamil Nadu Industrial Connectivity Project (TNICP). Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

The Project Director, Highways, Chennai Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor Project, CKICP Complex, HRS Campus, 76, Sardar Patel Road, Guindy, Chennai – 600025 (“the Purchaser”) for and on behalf of the Governor of State of Tamil Nadu invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the Procurement of Equipment for HRS Phase-I.

The Highways Research Station (HRS) was established in 1957. The primary functions are conducting research, carrying out materials testing, collecting road data, exercising quality control, offering suggestions for road safety and imparting training to all staff. Considering the present worn-out condition of the existing old equipment, procurement of new equipment is an urgent requirement to enhance the capacity of the laboratories of HRS.
