    Item Description:

    The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

    Invitation for Bids (IFB)

    The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) has received Financing from the AfDB hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Cote D’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone & Guinea Rural Electrification Project (CLSG-RE), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the Contract1 for Design, Supply, and Installation of Medium and Low Voltage Distribution Networks, Customer Connections and Street Lights in Rural Areas in Liberia. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments, which the contract provides to be made through letter of credit.

    The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Design, Supply, and Installation of Medium and Low Voltage Distribution Networks, Customer Connections and Street Lights in Rural Areas in Liberia.

    Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), OCBI procedures as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework African Development Bank for Plant, Design and Installation (December 2021), IFB and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.

    Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Liberia Electricity Corporation, Mr. ‘Muntungwa Mugala, Executive Director for Project and Planning Email: mmugala@lecliberia.com , Bushrod Island and inspect the bidding document during office hours indicated below, on working days from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm GMT at the address given above.
