The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.
ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.
Invitation for Bids
The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received financing from the ADB toward the cost of Railway Efficiency Improvement Project (REIP). Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.
The Ministry of Transport and Highways/Sri Lanka Railways (“the Purchaser”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the Design, Manufacture, Supply and Handing Over of 5,000 Nos. EN 45 Rails of R 260-EN 13674 and 5,000 Nos. EN 45 E 1 Rails of R 350 HT Type for Sri Lanka Railways.
International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single- Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB as described in the Bidding Document.
