Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids [IFB]
The Republic of Uganda has received financing from the African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank towards the cost of the Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme (AVCP) – Project 1, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for; Supply and Installation of Equipment for the National Metrology Laboratory at Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).
For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing.
Bidders may Bid for this contract, as applicable and, as further defined in the bidding document. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded will be allowed to do so, provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid.
The Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries now invites sealed Bids for; Supply and Installation of Equipment for the National Metrology Laboratory at Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS). A margin of preference is not applicable
Bidding will be conducted through Open Competitive Bidding (International) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework for Bank Group Funded Operations”, dated October 2015, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
