    Item Description:

    The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution. The EBRD was established by treaty in 1990 to foster the transition towards open market oriented economies and to promote private and entrepreneurial initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic States and the Commonwealth of Independent States that are committed to and applying the principles of multiparty democracy, pluralism and market economics.

    Over time EBRD’s regions of operations have expanded to include new countries such as Mongolia, Turkey, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Kosovo, Cyprus, Greece and Lebanon. Furthermore, while the EBRD remains as committed to fulfilling its original mandate as ever, its understanding of what the transition to market economics actually entails has evolved in the light of recent history. At the beginning of 2017, for example, EBRD began applying a new transition concept which defines a well-functioning market economy as more than just competitive; it should be  inclusive, well-governed, green, resilient and integrated as well.

    The Headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the “EBRD” or the “Bank”) is situated at One Exchange Square, London EC2A 2JN. The HQ building forms part of the Broadgate Development adjacent to Liverpool Street Station, London EC2.

    Invitation For Tenders

    The Holding Company For Water And Wastewater (HCWW) named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named contract(s) – S 04 Sanhour Al Bahariyyah (Contract A): Construction of Sewage networks and Pump stations for S.04 Villages.

    Additional financing information:

    Co-financing for the Project will be provided by the European Investment Bank (“EIB”) in the amount of EUR 126 Million and by EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility (“NIF”) under a grant in the amount of EUR 30 Million

    Information on the Procurement Exercise

    Contracts will be subject to the Bank’s Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.

    The documentation will include such information as: detailed technical and financial requirements; any information on lots; the expected outcome; eligibility and qualification requirements; contract start date; planned contract duration; any response requirements; any other relevant information.

    Other Information

    The Works cover 3 villages located in the Sinnuris District, namely Walidah Village, Iz.Alsayyid Ruhayl and Al Tamawi Village and consist construction of approx. 40 km. sewerage network with the related manholes and inspection chambers for house connections, approx. 7.00 km of pipelines for forced mains, 55 m of waterway, and road crossings by trenchless techniques and/or inside concrete encasement and 3 Nr. pumping station, including supply and installations of all electromechanical equipment. The time for completion will be 18 months with 12 months of DNP.
