Accommodation, Conference Facilities and other Related Services for Global Fund Technical Review Panel Meeting

The Global Fund has announced the Funding Request submission deadlines and the indicative dates for the 2020 TRP review meetings. Each TRP meeting is expected to be approximately 1-2 weeks long and may require 45-60 TRP members to participate. The Window 1 TRP review meeting in April 2020, is also expected to serve as the TRP yearly retreat for approximately 60-70 TRP members where inductions and on-boarding of new TRP members are undertaken, TRP internal matters are discussed and different aspects of the review process deliberated on and agreed, thereby setting the stage for consistency across review meetings during the year.

In line with the practice during the 2017 – 2019 TRP review meetings, Country Team’s will provide briefings to the TRP and the TRP will debrief Country Teams and Partners at the end of each review meeting. In view of this, the TRP meetings in 2020 and 2021 will be hosted in Geneva to avoid accommodation and travel costs for Secretariat staff, which would be substantial for meetings organized outside Geneva.

TRP review meetings require intense work with high level of effort from TRP members throughout the whole duration of the meeting and working after hours as well. In light of this, the criteria for selecting/recommending included not only costs but also overall venue quality in terms of hotel facilities and surrounding environment.

The attached document describes the scope of work for hotels interested in providing accommodation and meals for one to four TRP Review Meetings in 2020.
