    Item Description:

    This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online on 28th February 2019 [Ref AfDB266-02/19].

    The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Nairobi Rivers Sewerage Improvement Program (PHASE II). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction of Kahawa West, Githurai 44 & 45 and Kahawa Sukari reticulation Sewers.

    The Athi Water Works Development Agency, one of the executing agencies of the programme, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the following works under one (1) lot:

    Sewerage Project

    • Laying of around 145km of 600/450/375/300/225 dia. PCC trunk sewer pipelines in the areas of Kahawa Wendani/West, Githurai 44 & 45 and Environs
    • Construction of an interconnection channel between Ruiru phase I and Phase II
    • Provision of 8000 household connections.
    • Construction of 2no waste water faecal discharge points.

    Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Athi Water Works Development Agency, Africa Re-Centre, Hospital Rd, P.O. Box 45283-00100 Nairobi, Kenya, during office hours (8.00am to 5.00pm East African Time) on week days except public holidays.

    A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only).

    The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.

    Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 12.00pm East African Time on 30th June, 2020 and must be accompanied by a security (Unconditional Bank Guarantee) of KES. 2,000,000.00 (Kenya Shillings Two Million Only).

    Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 12.05pm East African Time on 30th June, 2020 at the offices of:
