The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids (IFB)
The Kingdom of Lesotho has received financing from the African Development Fund (ADF) [hereinafter called “the Bank”] toward the cost of the Lowlands Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for Construction of Sanitation Facilities for Vulnerable Households (including schools & clinic) in Motanasela (Lot 1) and Tebe-Tebe (Lot 2) Community Councils upstream of Metolong Dam. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing.
The Ministry of Water (Commission of Water) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Construction of Sanitation Facilities for Vulnerable Households (including schools & clinic) in Motanasela (Lot 1) and Tebe-Tebe (Lot 2) Community Councils upstream of Metolong Dam.
Bidders may bid for one or two contracts (lots), as applicable and as further defined in the bidding document. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded more than one contract will be allowed to do so, provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid.
Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (National), OCBN procedures as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework – November 2018, and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
