Construction of Works for Panchkhal Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Government of Nepal has applied for financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation (Sector) Project (UWSSP). Part of this financing will be used payments under the contracts named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

The Management Office, Urban Water Supply and Sanitation (Sector) Project (UWSSP), Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management, Ministry of Water Supply (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders, based on post-qualification criteria, for the construction and completion of the Works. The Works mainly comprises of following described hereunder:

Construction of Works consisting of:

Construction of River intakes (Sump well), Construction of water treatment plants which include Stilling Basins, Rapid Sand filter and Clear Water Tanks, Construction of Water Storage Tanks, Break Pressure Tanks, Construction of Valve Chamber, Surface Valve Boxes, Boundary Wall, Fencing, Guard Quarters and other buildings as instructed if any, Supply and laying of DI, GI and PE pipes and fittings for proposed transmission and distribution lines, Construction thrust blocks and concrete saddles for Pumping mains, Supply and Installation of Electromechanical Works including Pumps, Generator, Transformer etc. Supply and erection of transmission lines and other electrical connections, Supply and installation of Fire hydrant and house connections, Design, Supply, Installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Automation System for Water Supply System based on SCADA software comprises of different transmission systems and DMAs, Reservoirs, WTPs, Pumping stations including instrumentation control valve, bulk water meter, pressure level transducer, etc. The construction period is two and half years from the signing of the contract.

Operation and Maintenance of the system for one year.

Open Competitive Bidding – International will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible countries as described in the Bidding Document.
