    Item Description:

    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

    ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

    The Government of Nepal has applied for financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation (Sector) Project (UWSSP). Part of this financing will be used payments under the contracts named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

    The Project Management Office, Urban Water Supply and Sanitation (Sector) Project (UWSSP), Department of Water Supply and Sewerage management, Ministry of Water Supply (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders, based on post- qualification criteria, for the construction and completion of the Works. The Works mainly comprises of following works of following lots described hereunder:

    Stage 1: Construction of Works consisting of:

    Construction of stream intakes, Construction of Water Treatment Plant comprising of Flocculation Tank, Sedimentation Tank, Roughening Filter, Slow Sand Filter, Disinfection Units etc., Construction of OHT/ Water Reservoirs, Guard Quarters and WUSC office buildings, Valve Chamber, Surface Valve Boxes, Boundary Wall, Fencing etc., Supply and laying of DI, GI and PE pipes and fittings for transmission and distribution lines, Supply and Installation of Electromechanical Works comprising Submersible pumps, Transformers, Generators, Electrical transmission lines, Supply and installation of Fire hydrant and house connections, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning of Automation System for Water Supply System based on SCADA software comprises of different transmission systems and DMAs, WTPs including instrumentation control valve, bulk water meter, pressure level transducer, etc.

    The construction period is two years from the signing of the contract

    Stage 2: Operation and Maintenance of the system for one year.

    Open Competitive Bidding (OCB) – International will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders as described in the bidding document.
