Consultancy Services for Advisory and Capacity Building to the Road Development Agency under the Chinsali – Nakonda Road Rehabilitation Project (North – South Corridor)

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

The Republic of Zambia has applied for financing from the AfDB toward the cost of the Chinsali – Nakonde Road Rehabilitation Project (North – South Corridor), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for Individual Consultancy Services for Technical Advisory and Capacity Building.

The primary objective of this component is to support the Road Development Agency (RDA) in (i) preparing Bidding Documents for works and consultancy services; (ii) undertaking Bid/Proposal Evaluation; (iii) provide assistance to RDA in Contract Management activities; and (iv) capacity building,. The Consultants will report to RDA’s Project Manager.

RDA now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (Curriculum Vitae- description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, demonstration of appropriate skills.).

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants” [May 2008 edition revised in July 2012], which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
