    Item Description:

It is anticipated that the International Criminal Court (hereafter referred to as the ICC) located in The Hague, The Netherlands, will shortly be issuing a solicitation for the provision of Cataloguing Services for ICC Library Collection. In this connection, the ICC is requesting expression of interest from qualified firms.

Brief Scope of Work of Storage Hardware

The ICC Library collection consists of approximately 43,000 volumes of monographs, serials and audio-visual materials in the areas of international criminal law, international humanitarian law, comparative criminal law, genocide studies, human rights and related fields in a variety of languages, with English and French being predominant. Items are catalogued and classified according to international standards and are retrievable for authorised Library users via the OPAC interface of a SirsiDynix Symphony Library Management System.

As it has done in the past, the Library is seeking to temporarily outsource the cataloguing of new acquisitions in order to optimise its processes and ensure the timely accessibility of resources.

To catalogue English and other language Library materials, including print, electronic and audio-visual items, accurately and autonomously to guarantee holdings are available to Library users and cataloguing workflows are resource efficient.

To ensure consistency of cataloguing standards across the collection and subject matter specificity is maintained throughout, for optimal retrieval.

Using the Library’s own Library Management System (SirsiDynix Symphony) the designated cataloguer will be expected to:

    • Catalogue monographs, serials, electronic resources (including Ebooks) and audio-visual materials.
    • Create, update and correct MARC records as appropriate.
    • Adhere to AACR2 and RDA cataloguing standards.
    • Classify items according Library of Congress classification schedules (LCC).
    • Apply Library of Congress subject headings (LCSH) and Répertoire de vedettes-matière (RVM) de l’Université Laval.
    • Search, import and upload cataloguing records using OCLC Smartport, as available.
    • Follow ICC Library existing cataloguing policies and procedures.

The designated cataloguer will be required to work on ICC premises and will be granted a working space at the Library where access to internet, email, system databases, servers and documentation will be provided.

Services shall start in 2019 for one (1) year [twelve (12) months] with an option for one (1) year [twelve (12) months] extension, subject to the availability of funds. Expected start date is 15 March 2019. Exact dates of the work are not determined yet and will be negotiated.

Interested firms/organizations should forward their Expression of Interest by facsimile or e-mail to the attention of Mr. Kazumi Nakamura at fax no. +31 70 515 8336 or by e-mail Kazumi.Nakamura@icc-cpi.int

Please use the attached form (Page 3).

Interested firms/organizations registered with the UN Global Marketplace, please indicate your vendor registration number.

Please be advised that this Request for EOI does not constitute a solicitation.  It should also be noted that the ICC reserves the right to change or cancel this requirement at any time.
