Item Description:
The World Health Organization (WHO) invites vendors to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Graphic Design services which address the following objectives:
- To solicit graphic design company/ies of several categories of Information Products (illustrations animations, web design, infographics, social campaigns, data visualization and publication design and layout)of information products of the World Health Organization in the African Region.
- Graphic design companies that have the technical and production capability to produce consistent, high-quality graphic design products without restrictions throughout the year.
- Graphic Design services may be required for a range of communication products, including but not limited to publications, posters, banners, folders, leaflets/brochures, social media campaigns and assets, animations, gifs, scorecards, animations, web design, data visualization, story boards, illustrations, maps stickers and specialty/promotional items. As needs dictate by programme, cluster, WCOs and under the guidance of WHO’s Communication Graphic Designer, the selected Graphic Design company/ies will be expected to:
- Provide quotes as per graphic design brief specifications provided by WHO, within requested time frames, when needed or as requested, recommend suitable design concepts for the best quality product.
- Provide 3 proofs for approval prior to go ahead with design work.
- Ensure highest quality graphic design in keeping with standards in the graphic design industry.
- Advise on realistic timeframes to provide deliverables and ensure delivery of final graphic design products within agreed timelines.
- Develop high quality graphic design for print and online materials.
- Work with the WHO Communications Graphic Designer to understand needs and develop and execute creative concepts that cover these needs.
- Understand new trends in the design realm: must be demonstrated throughout the companies.
- Creative, brand building ideas.
- Possess skills and experience in creating infographics, animations, illustrations, web pages, videos, gifs social media assets and data visualization products, using the most up to date skills and equipment should be top of the line.
- Demonstrate skills in designing health campaigns, promotional materials and exhibition materials and spaces for high level events
- Exhibit proven writing and synthesis skills in French and English; the mastery of Portuguese for purposes of designing information products in various languages, will be an advantage;
- Have a mastery on design software: Adobe Creative Suite; Macromedia Freehand MXa; operational systems (OS) Windows and handling of all the photographic and graphic formats;
- The mastery on the SIG software will be an advantage: Arc GIS; Tableau, MapInfo products.
- Skills and experience in proofreading
- Proven expertise in managing electronic documents for production and in high-quality, cost-effective and client-service-oriented, and production of advocacy materials
- Some of these documents will have to be produced within tight deadlines and to high standards of quality.
- Some others will be produced with a longer deadline.
- Vendor should be able to design on demand, WHO Information and Communication materials, as well as visibility and advocacy products for WHO in the African Region, keeping in adherence to the highest quality graphic design standards; keeping with regulations and developments within the graphic design industry.
- Reputable graphic design vendors with minimum seven (7) years progressive experience in graphic design services and in-depth knowledge of graphic design processes are requested to apply.
Note: All artworks and graphics produced for WHO are reserved to WHO, and cannot be used by anyone or in any case except with written approval from WHO. Open files of any artworks produced for WHO shall be handed over to WHO for their archives and becomes property of WHO.
WHO intends to invite selected vendors to participate in a formal solicitation, via a Request for Proposals (RFP), at a later stage, for the above requirements. Complete details of the requirements will be included in the solicitation documents.
