The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. In emergencies, we get food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters. After the cause of an emergency has passed, we use food to help communities rebuild their shattered lives. WFP is part of the United Nations (UN) system and is voluntarily funded. 93 cents of every dollar donated directly supports our ‘field’ operations. In 2015 we assisted directly 76.7 million people in 81 countries.

The objectives of the World Food Programme are to save lives and livelihoods; support or restore food security and nutrition; reduce risk and enable people, communities and countries to meet their own food and nutrition needs, to reduce under-nutrition which causes stunting in children and break the cycle of hunger among the world’s poorest people.

Services sought

Time-and-materials services covering Information Technology and Digital Architecture areas such as: Application and Integration Architecture, Data Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Service Architecture, Service Design, User Experience, IT Strategy, IT Governance, IT Security, IT Hardware.

WFP hereby seeks and invites to pre-qualify interested reputable suppliers, or other technology companies with a strong experience in provision of the services above mentioned, to express their interest by contacting WFP through the following dedicated e-mail address: hq.tenders@wfp.org not later than Tuesday, 20th December 2016, 16:00 hours (Rome time).

Eligible suppliers, who have successfully performed their registrations at the following platforms as per links below are kindly requested to ensure that their expression of interest is communicated to the e-mail address specified above with the following reference number:

WFP will only purchase from pre-qualified suppliers, thus all prospective vendors must submit their registration request through the United nations Global Market Place “UNGM” portal and specify that the application is to be for the WFP vendor roster.

In accordance with UN resolution 1267, all existing and potential WFP suppliers are reviewed against a regularly updated list of individuals, groups, undertakings and other entities associated with terrorism and will be excluded accordingly.

Please note that only eligible suppliers, may be invited to participate in a competitive tender exercise (RFP).
