Item Description:
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) seeks an appropriately qualified contractor to establish a multi-year contract (3 +1+1 year) for the provision of Inspection, Maintenance and Repair Services of a Waste Water Treatment System at The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), Brindisi – Italy.
In summary:
The preventive maintenance shall be carried out by the Contractor at established intervals and consists of a series of operations aimed to prevent anomalies.
The work shall include the following activities as minimum:
- Catch Basin Maintenance;
- Floor Cleaning Waste Water;
- General Housekeeping;
- Maintenance of chemical-physical purification equipment/lines (i.e. pumps), biological purification components (i.e. pumps, sand filters) and parts in contact with chemicals (tanks, pumps, valves, instruments, pipes);
- Filling with oils, greasing, chemical reagents;
- Reagent loading;
- Maintenance of underground tanks and oil separators; – Maintenance of electrical systems;
- Inlet/outlet water analysis in compliance with the Italian Legislative Decree No. 152 dated April 3, 2006 (“Testo unico Sull’Ambiente”) and the UNGSC/international standards with respect to environmental requirements; Test and check the functionality of the treatment system for both the waste water and the water reutilized in the system itself.
All services, materials and supplies provided during the execution of this Contract, shall be in full compliance with the pertinent Italian Laws and Regulations and in accordance with the relevant Standards and Codes of Practice of Italy and Europe, UNI or any other internationally accepted set of Codes and Standards, such as but not limited to the following:
The Italian Legislative Decree No. 81 dated April 9, 2008 (“Testo unico Sulla Sicurezza”) and the UNGSC/international standards with respect to occupational safety and health requirements;
The Italian Legislative Decree No. 152 dated April 3, 2006 (“Testo unico Sull’Ambiente”) and the UNGSC/international standards with respect to environmental requirements.
European Code 89/392/CEE;
UNI 11485:2013 – Car washes – Safety requirements, test methods.
The full technical requirements and administrative instructions will be provided with a solicitation document to be issued at a later stage after the closing date for this EOI.

The companies participating in this bidding exercise shall be registered at the Chamber of Commerce business registry under Letter A and Letter D of the Art. 1 of the Italian Law no. 37, dated 22/01/2008 and registered as a company qualified to maintain purification systems.
Level 1 registration with UNGM will be required at the Contract signature stage.
