Provision of moving and storage services

a) Regular Project-Specific Moving Services
The Base Moving Services shall include the move of Staff personal belongings and office furniture, office IT equipment and the general space clearing and disposal of items left behind. The services shall be required for a period of tentatively 2-3 years, which is the anticipated duration of the office renovation works. The estimates workload of each moving period will be belongings of 300-500 staff and furniture of office space approx. 3,000 sqm. The move destination of this service shall be within the ESCAP compound and/or within Bangkok metropolitan area.
The Base Moving Services also include all the management, supervision, planning, surveys, etc. to plan and execute these services.

b) Ad-hoc On-call Moving Services
The on-call moving services requires that the qualified Moving Company have the capacity to provide moving services on an “as needed basis”. These services would be outside of the project specific moving scope and be provided on an as needed basis. The moving company shall provide all labor, transportation, equipment and miscellaneous supplies in variable quantity as necessary to support move of special items of unusual size (such as safes, library shelves, refrigerators, kitchenette supplies, etc.) as well as provide staff on urgent/short notice basis. A focal point or team lead to be provided by the move company and will act as the focal point and liaison between the UN and the contracted moving team(s).

Additionally, ESCAP would also like to inquire about the ability of moving companies to provide these two related services:

(c) warehouse storage services
(d) repurpose / disposal of office furniture

c) Warehouse Storage Services
The warehouse storage services require that the qualified Moving Company have the capacity to provide safe and suitable storage space within 20 KM. proximity from the ESCAP premises. Moving services to and from the warehouse storage facility are also required.

d) Repurpose / Disposal Service of Office Furniture
The repurpose and/or disposal services require that the qualified Moving Company have the capacity to buy-back furniture, removal, recycling and/or disposal service as needed basis. The services will cover mainly office furniture and accessories, but may also include other items such as safes, library shelves, etc. Companies/ entities responding to this EOI need to have a deep understanding, expertise and experience with those activities in the relocation industry.
The detailed scope of work will be given under the Request for Proposal document that will be sent to the companies who respond to this EOI.
