    Item Description:

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) that is responsible for issues that concern information and communication technologies. It is the oldest among all the 15 specialised agencies of UN.

The ITU coordinates the shared global use of the radio spectrum, promotes international cooperation in assigning satellite orbits, works to improve telecommunication infrastructure in the developing world, and assists in the development and coordination of worldwide technical standards. The ITU is active in areas including broadband Internet, latest-generation wireless technologies, aeronautical and maritime navigation, radio astronomy, satellite-based meteorology, convergence in fixed-mobile phone, Internet access, data, voice, TV broadcasting, and next-generation networks. The agency also organizes worldwide and regional exhibitions and forums, such as ITU Telecom World, bringing together representatives of government and the telecommunications and ICT industry to exchange ideas, knowledge and technology.

    Request for Quotation

The ITU issues the present Request for Quotation (“RFQ”) to appoint a company responsible for the Provision of Podcasts and Short Videos (Tech for Good).

ITU recorded numerous interviews over 2019 with experts in various technological fields and wishes to maximise the impact of these interviews by commissioning a series of themed through leadership videos and podcasts under the general subject of “Tech for good” (exact themes TBC). The production company will be required to review a selection of interviews (in the region of 60-70 interviews approx. 4-7 minutes each) and create engaging and stimulating videos and podcasts using soundbites from these; supplemented by relevant original footage in the case of videos or voice over in the case of podcasts. The production company should have extensive experience in similar productions and be able to supply high quality original footage to illustrate videos – cleared for all uses – from their archives (ITU has only a small amount of relevant archive footage) and be able to source inexpensive or royalty-free footage. The ITU Studio will be able to be used to record the voice-over for podcasts and music for both podcasts and video will be made available to the production company by ITU (ITU has an annual subscription to the Audio Network music library).
