Item Description:
The United Nations seeks to engage a provider of security screening products, including X-Ray scanners, Walk-Though Metal Detectors, Handheld Metal Detectors, Explosive Detectors (Itemizers) and Millimeter Wave Scanners for global systems contracts for a maximum duration of five (5) years. This covers the future requirements of the United Nations in UNHQs, Regional Offices and Field Offices.
The equipment must be fully certified by transportation agencies such as the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and/or the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), as well as compliant with internationally recognized standards. A manufacturer capable of supplying the complete line of products will have an advantage, given the importance of standardization of the screening equipment throughout the United Nations and the provision of agile maintenance as required.
The variety of products required include:
- X-Ray screening systems with standard transmission, dual-energy transmission and multi-energy transmission in multiple sizes and capacity, with network connection capabilities, user assistance software to identify and flag potential threats and supervisory modules, a complete accompanying training package and worldwide technical support;
- Multi-zone Walk Through Metal Detectors;
- Handheld metal detectors;
- Millimeter Wave Personnel Scanners;
- Desktop Explosive Trace Detectors.
All materials, software and equipment shall include warranty commensurate with the standard useable life of the product. The selected vendor shall also provide maintenance and support services. Given the nature of such equipment, bidders must also be able to provide assistance in deactivation, removal and disposal of purchased equipment.
Full and final details, including technical specifications and estimated volume of requirements, will be provided to vendors under the bid solicitation document.
This EOI does not constitute a solicitation.
The UN reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements.
