Serbian Inland Waterway Infrastructure Implementation Support and Compliance Services

Item Description:

The Serbian Inland Waterway Infrastructure project comprises the rehabilitation and upgrade of fluvial infrastructures in the course of the Danube and Sava rivers, both of which are part of the core TEN-T Rhine-Danube corridor. The various schemes are to be financed through an EIB framework loan and the budget from the Government of Serbia and are likely to include the construction of new port infrastructure, the provision of aids to navigation and telecommunication systems to support the management of the river traffic, the rehabilitation of existing river locks as well as wreck removal, river training and dredging works to improve navigability. The schemes aim at renovating the existing inland waterway infrastructure and align its characteristics to those required by waterways of international importance in terms of class and quality of the operation.

The purpose of the TA operation is to 1) support the PIU established by the promoter in the implementation of the Serbian Inland Waterway Infrastructure project; and 2) to monitor, report and evaluate on compliance of the Project to the “Safeguard Provisions” of the EIB.

The Contracting Authority may, at its own discretion and subject to the availability of funding, extend the scope and duration of the project to cover additional services. Any extension of the contract would be subject to satisfactory performance by the Service Provider.

Eligibility

Participation is open to interested legal and natural persons – participating either individually or in a grouping (consortium) of candidates. Participation is also open to international organisations.
