    Item Description:

    The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

    Invitation for Bids (IFB)

    The Republic of Uganda has received financing from the African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank towards the cost of the Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme (AVCP) – Project 1, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for; Supply and Delivery of Equipment for Acomai Irrigation Scheme and Motor Vehicles for Research and Technology Uptake.

    For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing.

    The Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for; Supply and Delivery of Equipment for Acomai Irrigation Scheme and Motor Vehicles for Research and Technology Uptake. A margin of preference is not applicable. A bidder is free to bid for more than one lot and will qualify for award if they are the best evaluated and satisfy the aggregate requirements for the applicable lots.

    Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), (OCBI) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework for Bank Group Funded Operations”, dated October, 2015, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.

    Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Procurement and Disposal Unit, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal industry and Fisheries , Plot 16-18, Lugard Avenue – Entebbe, Tel: 256-414 320981/Fax 256-41-340685, email: procurement@agriculture.go.ug/ and copy to: avcp@agriculture.go.ug, and inspect the bidding document during office hours i.e. 0900 to 1700 hours at the address given below.
