Supply and Installation of a Steady-State Solar Simulator for Photovoltaic Device Calibration

The European Commission, Joint Research Centre (referred to below as the contracting authority) is planning to award the contract resulting from the above procurement procedure. The procurement documents consist of the contract notice, the invitation letter, the draft contract and tender specifications with their respective annexes. The Energy Efficiency and Renewables Unit (EEREU) of the Directorate C is located at the Joint Research Centre’s Ispra site (JRC). It performs scientific research and provides policy support in the field of renewable energy systems. As part of this task it operates the European Solar Test Installation (ESTI) as a European reference laboratory for electrical performance testing of photovoltaic (PV) devices.

To extend its capabilities for assessing emerging module technologies, ESTI requires a steady-state solar simulator for PV device calibration on a test area of at least 21 centimetres by 21 centimetres (square format), in conformity with the most rigorous spectral, uniformity and stability requirements of the relevant International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.

The performance of the contract shall ensure the supply, delivery, installation and provision of training and documentation for a steady-state solar simulator within 6 months from the date the contract, including a guarantee period of 24 months from the date of acceptance of the equipment (date of signing of the Certificate of Conformity).
