    Item Description:

    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

    ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

    The Government of Nepal has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Melamchi Water Supply Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

    The Melamchi Water Supply Development Board-MWSDB (“the Employer”) under the Ministry of Water Supply and Sanitation, Government of Nepal, invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of the Works known as:

    “Supply, Installation, Construction, Testing and Commissioning with 1-Year Operation and Maintenance of Headworks of the Melamchi Water Supply Project, Melamchi Diversion Scheme, Contract No. MDS/DT/02 – Package 1”

    The scope of works shall be inclusive but not limited to the following activities:

    • Construction of Headworks and Intake Structures in Melamchi River near Ribarma, Sindhupalchowk District, Nepal
    • Maintenance of access roads to tunnel exit portal and adits at Ambathan including miscellaneous works in diversion tunnel
    • Widening and reconstruction of the existing access gravel road (Approx. length is 500meters) and provision of retaining walls along the river access road to headworks,
    • Design and Construction of Cofferdam
    • Design and Construction of Access Steel Bridge
    • Supply and Installation of Green Terramesh Slope Protection along the headworks area.
    • Operation and Maintenance of All Camp Site and Facilities
    • Installation of S4 Flushing System (through a nominated Subcontractor)
    • Coordination with Other Contractor/Subcontractors:
      • Hydro-mechanicalWorks(Gates)
      • Supply and Installation of SS Pipes o Instrumentation
    • Other Miscellaneous and Allied Works; and
    • Testing, Commissioning and One (1) Year Operation and Maintenance

    Time for Completion: 15 months (450 calendar Days)

    National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two-Envelope procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries as described in the Bidding Document.
