Supply of seeds, agrochemicals and small agriculture tools Lots 1, 2 & 3

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

The Government of Mozambique has received financing from the African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Multinational Post Cyclone Idai and Kenneth Emergency Recovery and Resilience Programme for Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for Supply of seeds Lot 1, supply of Agrochemicals Lot 2 and supply of small agriculture tools in the Provinces of Sofala, Manica, Tete and Nampula. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and Procedures for Investment Project Financing.

The Direcção do Plano e Políticas(DPP) of Ministery of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADER) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for supply of seeds Lot 1 – Maize, beans and diverse vegetable seeds; supply of agrochemicals Lot 2 – Fertilizers and pesticides and supply of small agriculture tools Lot 3 in the Provinces of Sofala, Manica, Tete and Nampula.

Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (National), (OCBN) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework on October 14, 2015, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
