Tamakoshi V Hydroelectric Project (TV-HEP)

The Government of Nepal has applied for financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) toward the cost of Tamakoshi V Hydroelectric Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, non-consulting services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project will include the following components:

• Component 1: Civil and Hydromechanical works. This component will comprise the construction of the Project’s hydraulic structure. Civil works will include the excavation of: a headrace tunnel, a surge tank, a vertical shaft, a short pressure tunnel, an underground powerhouse and a spillway. Hydromechanical works will comprise the design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of the equipment including: gates, penstock, valves, and gantry cranes;
• Component 2: Electromechanical, Transmission Line, and Infrastructure works. This component will comprise activities related to the installation of electromechanical equipment and the construction of a small segment of double- circuit transmission lines, permanent and temporary workers’ camps, and access roads within the project site;
• Components 3 & 4: Implementation of Environmental and Social Management

Plans (ESMP), Technical Assistance and other consulting services. This component will include consulting services such as Construction Management and Supervision, Technical Assistance including Environmental and Social, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Project Impacts, and any consulting services required for the project.

Procurement of contracts financed by AIIB will be conducted in accordance with the requirements of AIIB’s Procurement Policy and its associated Interim Operational Directive on Procurement Instructions for Recipients and is open to all eligible firms and individuals. AIIB’s Policy on Prohibited Practices will apply to all contracts. After project negotiations, AIIB shall arrange the publication on its external website of the agreed initial procurement plan and all subsequent updates once it provides a no objection.
