    Item Description:

    The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking offers for the update & maintenance of a portal website for Category 3 of work (Promoting health through the life-course). You are invited to submit a proposal for the work on the project in response to this Request for Proposals (RFP). The work is intented to take place from 01 February 2017 to 31 December 2017.

    WHO is a public international organization, consisting of 194 Member States, and a Specialized Agency of the United Nations with the mandate to act as the directing and coordinating authority on international health work. As such, WHO is dependent on the budgetary and extra-budgetary contributions it receives for the implementation of its activities. Bidders are, therefore, requested to propose the best and most cost-effective solution to meet WHO requirements, while ensuring a high level of service.

    WHO requires the successful provider, to carry out the following tasks:

    1. To maintain technically, upload and refresh content and update the Life-course portal website on a regular basis as requested by the External Relations officer.
    2. To create and refresh new highlights and stories, select and manipulate photos and images to illustrate them.
    3. Working with members of the WEBTEAM, to support the automatic sharing of content through the CMS, and work with departments implement that system .
    4. To advise on enhancements and look of the life-course webpage available for WHO sites (as liaison to the WHO webteam), and implement them after consultation with the External Relations Office.
    5. To format the regular Life-course Newsletter/Blog (uploading content, providing links, testing), refresh/update format, look and feel as needed, and send out the message to the mailchimp contact Database.
    6. To support the maintenance of the Database for the Newsletter/Blog as needed and in coordination with the ADGO team assistant.
    7. To support the uploading of Huffington Post Blogs in their Content Management System.

    The provider shall be an individual or an institution operating in the web field with proven expertise in the Content Management System utilized in the WHO website, experience working as a web Producer in English, French and Spanish, in depth knowledge of the life-course website, protocols and structure, as well as the network of web pages and other contractors/web technicians working on them (crucial for the good workings of the portal), desirable knowledge of work processes in the UN system and availability for presence at WHO HQ on ad hoc basis.
