Item Description:
CERN intends to place blanket purchase contracts for the supply of about 1000 low voltage (LV) and 1000 extra low voltage (ELV) power supplies for the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) detector electronics of the LHC experiments. Some of the power supplies will be installed in environmentally-hostile areas (ionising radiation, stray magnetic field). The supply will include the development, design, production, supply and long-term maintenance (15 years). The production of the supply is expected to start by Mid-2019 for standard units and by Mid 2020 for units that will be installed in hostile areas.
Interested firms shall have previous experience in the design and manufacturing of LV and ELV power supplies, be able to supply and maintain them over the long-term, and for some applications have demonstrated experience in designing power supplies for hostile areas.
