Provision of editorial services

Item Description:

Assisting 80 million people in around 80 countries each year, the World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

To support this work, WFP produces a vast number of documents, reports, publications and manuals and avails of in-house editors for most of these.

For the above reasons, WFP is seeking Expressions of Interest for the provision of editorial services in English. Editorial services will include writing and copywriting, editorial and proofreading services for print and/or web-friendly texts, adapting text style to the audience indicated in the editorial brief, and adhering to WFP’s Editorial Style Guide.[1]

Two main job lots are under consideration for the Expressions of Interest:

1. Communications products: this includes information material produced for release to the general public about WFP activities;
2. Technical documentation, guidance and manuals: this lot includes a wide range of documentation and it would specifically cover technical and training material (guidance, manuals, etc.).

Response

In order to participate in the pre-selection exercise, companies are required to provide the following:

• Confirmation of interest in being considered for the delivery of one or both of the job lots described above;
• Company description (max 1 page);
• Summary of experience in the required business especially for international Organizations (max 2 pages);
• Annual volumes of editorial products processed and CVs of relevant company focal point/project lead;
• No financial proposal is required at this stage.

Upon receipt of a positive response, WFP may proceed with the next steps to engage a vendor.
