The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB or “Bank”) was established in December of 1959 to help accelerate economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Today, the Bank is a major catalyst in mobilizing resources for the region. The Bank is owned by its 48 member countries with headquarters in Washington, D.C., as well as Country Offices in each member country of Latin America and the Caribbean, and special offices in Paris and Tokyo. The Bank provides loans, technical assistance and policy guidance to further its goals of poverty reduction and sustainable development in the Latin American and Caribbean regions. Purpose of the Pre-qualification Inquiry (PQI)
The purpose of this PQI is to obtain sufficient information to enable the Inter-American Development Bank (“Bank”) to evaluate the suitability of potential suppliers to meet its requirement for off-site Travel Management Services for the Bank’s global program. During the PQI stage, the intention will be to arrive at a Tender Panel of potential suppliers for formal invitation. Selected suppliers will then be invited to participate further in the procurement competitive sourcing process.
This PQI sets out the exclusion and selection criteria which the Bank will apply for this short-listing process. The short-listing process will be carried out by an Evaluation Committee.
Responses to the PQI must be submitted in full, with all requested supporting documents in accordance with the following instructions. The Bank may reject applications not complying with these instructions. The particular attention of applicants is drawn to the requirements for exclusion criteria where both declarations and supporting documentation are mandatory.
If an applicant is unsure of the documents which are required, particularly for exclusion criteria, then it is strongly recommended for the applicant to contact the appointed person at the Bank for clarification, since failure to provide the correct documentation may result in elimination from the procedure.
PQI Process Schedule
Listed below is the schedule for activities related to this PQI. The following schedule reflects the expected completion dates but may be modified by the Bank at any time at its sole discretion.
- Issuance/Posting of the Pre-Qualification Inquiry Document – May 20, 2019
- Response Due Date – June 10, 2013
- Estimated Issuance of Request for Proposal – July 2019
PQI responses submitted after the specified deadline will not be considered. Applicants will be informed if their response to this PQI has failed to meet the deadline.
