Supply of 400 carbon fibre support structure assemblies for the ATLAS Inner Tracker strips endcap

Item Description:

CERN intends to place a contract for the supply of 400 carbon fibre petal-shape support structure assemblies for the ATLAS Inner Tracker strips endcap. Each petal will be approximately 600mm long, 300mm wide on the long side, 110 mm wide on the short side, and 6mm thick. The supply will include prototype assemblies. The main production is intended to start during the first quarter of 2021 and to continue through the end of 2023. All components will most likely be supplied by CERN.

Interested firms must have a proven experience in the assembly of similar products (size, material, etc…). Considering the financing of this project, at least 50% of the assembly work must originate in Spain or Germany.
