Item Description:
The European Commission is an institution of the European Union, responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the EU treaties and managing the day-to-day business of the EU.
The European Commission, Directorate-General for Human Resources and Security, (hereinafter referred to as ‘the contracting authority’) is considering awarding the contracts resulting from the above procurement procedure. The procurement documents consist of the contract notice, this letter of invitation to tender, the draft contract, the tender specification, and the annexes thereto. All documents are available in the attached ZIP File.
This invitation to tender is divided into three lots:
- lot 1 purchase of X-ray inspection tunnels, walk-through metal detectors and accessories,
- lot 2 purchase of X-ray inspection tunnels with tray return below the X-rays, walk-through metal detectors and accessories,
- lot 3 purchase of X-ray inspection tunnels with 3D reconstruction tomography, walk-through metal detectors and accessories.
This invitation to tender is in no way binding on the contracting authority. The contracting authority’s contractual obligation commences only upon signature by both parties of the contract with the successful tenderer.
The contracting authority may, before the contract is signed, cancel the award procedure without tenderers being entitled to claim any compensation. Any such decision must be substantiated and the tenderers notified.
The period of validity of the tender, during which tenderers may not modify the terms of their tenders in any respect, is indicated in section IV.2.6 of the contract notice.
Submission of a tender implies acceptance of all the terms and conditions set out in the procurement documents and, where appropriate, waiver of the tenderer’s own general or specific terms and conditions. The tender submitted is binding on the tenderer to whom the contract is awarded for the duration of the contract.
