Bus Rapid Transit Corridor and Buildings Construction

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received financing from Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Karachi Bus Rapid Transit Red Line Project. Part of the proceeds of this financing will be used for payments under the contracts named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

The TransKarachi (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the KBRT- CW-01: BRT Corridor and Buildings Construction (“the Works”) broken down into lots as follows:

• Lot 1: Malir Halt Depot to Mosamiyat
• Lot 2: Mosamiyat to Numaish

Bidders may submit separate bids for one or both lots. However, a Bidder may be awarded one or both lots if it submits the lowest evaluated substantially responsive bid(s) provided such Bidder meets the aggregated qualification requirements for one or both lots.

Note: National Bidders (either individually or as a partner in a Joint Venture) should be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and shall have a valid registration Certificate before contract award, in case they submit the successful (lowest evaluated responsive) bid.

Open Competitive Bidding (International advertisement) will be conducted in accordance with the ADB’s Single Stage-Two Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all eligible Bidders as described in the Bidding Document.
