Item Description:
The United Nations Procurement Division in New York (UN/PD) seeks expressions of interest (EOI) from reputable manufacturers or their authorized dealers / distributors of the below listed items for use in UN peacekeeping missions worldwide. The intention is to award one or more contracts resulting from a solicitation that is yet to be issued, against which Missions may order the products. The contract’s duration is likely to be initially for three years, plus UN’s option to extend twice for a year each.
- Concertina wires and ground locking pegs.
- Corrugated Galvanised Iron (CGI) sheets.
- Angle iron pickets.
- Burlap and polypropylene sandbags.
- Barbed and binding wire.
When issued (soon after the closing date of this request for EOI), the solicitation document (Invitation to Bid – ITB) will include the following:
- Detailed technical specifications.
- Forecasted quantities – not guaranteed
- Delivery terms – normally FCA seaport, INCOTERMS 2010
- Table for bidders to indicate production capacity.
- Packing scheme, quantity per pallet, quantity per 20′ ISO sea container
- Language of submission is English only
Mandatory requirements are likely to include the following:
- Evidence of ISO 9001:2000 or national or international equivalent Quality Management certification, specifically for meeting physical specifications, testing performance, reliability and durability.
- Evidence of ISO 14001:2004 or national or international equivalent Environmental Management System certification, specifically for meeting designs, manufacture of security/defense materials, environmental specifications and standards.
- Evidence of certification for galvanization, where applicable.
- Evidence of experience in similar business for at least the last three (3) years.
- Letters of reference from clients.
- Evidence that the bidder is authorized by the manufacturer to participate in the solicitation, for offering the manufacturer’s product.
