Design, Supply, Install, Test, Commission, Operate & Maintain Solar PV Generation and BESS Facilities in South Tarawa

Invitation for Bids

The Republic of Kiribati has received financing from the ADB toward the cost of developing solar PV generation facilities under the South Tarawa Water Supply Project (STWSP), and has received grant funding from ADB, Strategic Climate Fund and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade towards the cost of developing solar PV generation facilities under the South Tarawa Renewable Energy Project (STREP). It intends to apply part of the proceeds of these grants to payments under the contracts for these facilities. The project is jointly financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Green Climate Fund and the World Bank.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, the Public Utilities Board (“PUB”) and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy (“MISE”) now invite sealed bids from eligible bidders for the design, supply, installation, testing, and operation and maintenance of the solar PV and BESS facilities.

Open competitive bidding (International) will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: One-Envelope (1S1E) bidding procedure and the bidding procedure and is open to all bidders with no nationality restrictions applying other than any restrictions arising from Instructions to Bidders §4.8.
